Job summary

Kiewit is seeking Mid to Lead level Structural Engineers for industrial projects across North America. You will design steel and concrete structures, drive projects from concept through construction, and mentor junior engineers in a fast‑paced EPC/design‑build environment.

This role emphasizes BIM‑driven design, cross‑discipline collaboration, and adherence to codes (ASCE 7, IBC, ACI 318). Offices in Kansas City KS, Lone Tree CO, Woodcliff Lake NJ, Manhattan NY and Minneapolis MN; competitive

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited engineering degree in structural, civil, or architectural engineering; masters coursework preferred.
• PE license or in process of obtaining within 18 months or willing to obtain.
• 3+ years of structural engineering/design experience in steel and concrete for industrial, manufacturing, water/wastewater or building markets; EPC/design‑build experience preferred.
• Experience developing specifications and structural load calculations; knowledge of ASCE 7, IBC, ACI 318, AISC 360; wind and seismic analysis; production of detailed drawings.
• Experience with BIM software (Revit) and AutoCAD/Navisworks; 3D modeling required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural design for industrial projects, including analysis and drawings for steel and concrete structures.
• Develop structural calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Utilize BIM to develop plans, models, drawings, and detailed documentation for coordination and constructability.
• Incorporate EPC and contractual requirements into the structural design approach.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to resolve issues across the project lifecycle.
• Identify and propose improvements to standards, workflows, and processes.
