Job summary

Rhode Island Commerce is seeking an on-site Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for a contract hourly role at our industrial client sites. The EMT provides immediate medical care, injury response, and basic life support in a fast-paced environment, with a 40-hour work week and rotation 4 days on / 3 off (including weekends).

Qualifications

• Current EMT-B or above certification (National Registry or state)
• Minimum one (1) year 911 experience
• Valid CPR/AED certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
• Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols
• Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills
• Willing to travel to various client locations
• Knowledge of OSHA Recordability and workers’ compensation a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills with clients and employees

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to on-site medical emergencies, injuries, and illnesses
• Assess patient condition and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) care
• Administer first aid, CPR, AED, and other emergency interventions within scope of practice
• Stabilize patients for transport and coordinate with EMS when escalation is required
• Complete detailed incident reports and medical documentation in required systems
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies
• Maintain confidentiality of all medical information
• Participate in audits and quality assurance initiatives
• Communicate effectively with employees, site leadership, and medical providers
• Coordinate care with occupational health staff, athletic trainers, and leadership
• Serve as a professional representative of the company on client sites
• Ensure administrative tasks (forms, reports, inventory) are completed in a timely manner
• Ensure all certifications and licensure remain current
