Job summary

Acushnet Company in Massachusetts seeks an Electrical Mechanical Specialist for our golf ball manufacturing operations in New Bedford. You will independently troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, perform preventive maintenance, calibrate electromechanical devices, and support production with minimal downtime.

Qualifications

Completion of TPC curriculum with 3+ years electrical maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
Approved technical associate degree or certificate in electrical/electronic discipline and 3+ years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 7 years of industrial electrical experience in a skilled trade (without formal post-secondary education); must complete TPC training for any identified skill gaps.
Formal training in AC/DC circuits and basic PLC functionality.
Experience with instrumentation, controls, and mechanical systems.
Proficient in reading blueprints, electrical/hydraulic schematics, and using measuring tools and tolerances.
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and machine tools (e.g., drills, lathes, millers).
Strong troubleshooting, installation, and repair skills for machinery and equipment.
Working knowledge of safety practices including Lockout/Tagout and NFPA 70E.
Must provide own trade tools and demonstrate a strong work ethic, including reliable attendance.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with precision and versatility.
Maintain preventive and predictive maintenance, rebuild and calibrate electromechanical devices, and collaborate with Engineering on equipment design or adaptation.
Plan work efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Test and calibrate instruments to meet performance standards and foster continuous improvement.
