Job summary

The City of Raleigh North Carolina is seeking an Electrician - Water Plant to support a large-scale water treatment and pumping facility. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, PLC/SCADA components, and instrumentation to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 1–3 years as journey-level electrician or related work.
• Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs journey-level electrical work for water treatment plants and related facilities.
• Install, maintain, and repair instrumentation, electrical controls, power distribution, and automation systems.
• Troubleshoots electrical distribution infrastructure and coordinates resources.
• Inspects, performs preventive maintenance, and services security, fire alarm, and access control systems.
• Maintains documentation, inventory, and coordinates with stakeholders.
• Responds to emergency repairs due to weather or other incidents.
