Job summary

pladis is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to analyze, repair, and maintain electrical systems across the plant. You will read diagrams, troubleshoot PLCs, and ensure safety while supporting production uptime.

The role involves startup/shutdown of equipment, coordination with maintenance teams, and potential work on robotics projects. Candidates should have vocational electrical training and 5–8 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Formal training in PLC based industrial control systems.
• 5–8 years of experience as industrial electrician.
• Experience with robotics desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans details of working procedure by determining replacement needs or new material required and develops a logical approach to correct problem.
• Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electronic devices and systems.
• Receives wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions from supervisor covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation inspection work to be performed.
• Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
• Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
• Services electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains communication cables, power distribution systems, (Switchgear), and splices pieces as required.
• Fabricates parts if not commercially available, using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
• Determines need for, analyzes, and makes necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
• Advises and cautions operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved.
• Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective action taken.
• Install, program, start-up and troubleshoot PLC, DDC based control systems, i.e., Allen Bradley SLC-50, 100, 500 or equivalent.
• May be part of a mechanical team on major installations, working with other trades such as machinist, pipefitters, etc.
• May be called upon to do temporary or long-term repairs in other areas of Plant Maintenance such as, pipefitter, HVAC, boiler room, etc.
• Comply with all safety policies, report safety violations, and attend safety meetings.
• Report problems regarding food safety to supervisor or manager.
