Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Springfield, MA is seeking an Industrial Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical production equipment at our corrugated packaging plant. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience, 480V three-phase systems, PLCs, VFDs, and an active Massachusetts electrical license; candidate will perform preventive maintenance and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Industrial Electrician experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with 480V three-phase systems and various control voltages.
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters).
• Strong ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Willingness to work on mechanical and electrical projects with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment including MCCs, transformers, switches, and wiring.
• Diagnose and repair faults in large scale machinery and support uptime.
• Interpret PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIs; calibrate sensors and instruments.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and lockout/tagout policies; maintain records.
