Job summary

Interfor is seeking an Industrial Electrician in DeQuincy, LA to maintain and repair electrical systems at the sawmill, ensuring safe and efficient operation. You will read schematics, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot PLCs, drives, and motors to minimize downtime.

The role requires 3+ years in industrial electrical maintenance or a related technical degree, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or a technical degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electrical distribution systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the mill.
• Read and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLCs, AC drives, motors, and other control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring equipment is properly isolated before work begins.
• Effectively manage and plan work assignments with minimal direct supervision.
• Submit work requests and complete work orders detailing work performed, parts used, and time required.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
