Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Baltimore, MD is seeking an experienced industrial electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the electrical backbone of a high-throughput coal terminal. You will service conveyor lines, motors, drives, and PLC controls, ensuring safety and productivity in demanding outdoor environments.

The role requires reading blueprints, wiring schematics, and adhering to OSHA practices, with overtime and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as an industrial electrician in manufacturing.
• Fluency in reading electrical blueprints/schematics and technical documents.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience with PLCs and ladder logic.
• Comfort working at heights, outdoors, and in confined spaces.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC.
• Available for overtime and rotating shifts (nights, holidays, weekends).
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair electrical systems for industrial machinery and conveyor systems.
• Build/repair control panels; execute power distribution work at 220/480V; administer preventive maintenance programs.
• Service AC/DC motors and drives, PLC controls, and sensors (limit and proximity).
• Apply electrical codes and reference manuals, schematics, diagrams, and blueprints; troubleshoot with ladder logic.
• Conduct safety inspections and enforce OSHA practices: LOTO, confined space, fall protection, hot work, mobile equipment operation, and PPE.
• Reduce downtime through rapid root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Cross-train and operate, when needed, loaders, dozers, locomotives, and cranes.
• Safely operate equipment supporting rail-to-vessel coal transshipment.
