Job summary

CEMEX in Demopolis, AL seeks an Electrician Journeyworker to perform maintenance and installation of electrical systems across plant locations. You will read blueprints, diagnose faults, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Requirements include 5 years of electrical maintenance experience and ability to read English; PLC and digital drive experience is a plus. Heavy industrial background preferred and associate degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5 years electrical maintenance experience.
• 3 years experience in aggregate, cement or heavy industrial operations preferred.
• Power distribution experience up to 4,160 volts.
• Programmable logic control and digital drive experience.
• High school graduate; associates degree preferred.
• Able to read, write, and speak English.
• Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment.
• Read and work from blueprints and drawings in installation, repair, and maintenance of plant and quarry electric equipment with or without supervision.
• Install, adjust and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges and instruments.
• Troubleshoot, evaluate and coordinate electrical needs, repairs and modifications.
• Ensure that manufacturer’s standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot circuits, wiring, motors, starters, controllers, generators, switchboards, dynamotors, etc.
• Take motors apart, rewind, clean, paint, lubricate, and assemble.
• Make point and brush replacements and adjust commutator and slip rings.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
