Job summary

Detroit Salt Company in Detroit is seeking an experienced Electrician to maintain, install, and repair electrical systems across our mining facility. You will handle 480-15,000 VAC systems, test motor controllers, and supervise other technicians.

The role requires a Journeyman or Master Electrician license, 8+ years in an industrial setting, PLC/VFD knowledge, and the ability to work safely under demanding conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Journeyman card or Master Electrician license required.
• Electrical certification or license required.
• 8+ years in an industrial electrical role.
• Experience supporting industrial operations with PLC/VFD and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical diagrams.
• Ability to train others and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install, and repair electrical equipment and power/lighting systems.
• Test operation of electrical machinery and control equipment.
• Work with 480-15,000 VAC 3-phase motor control systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions, dismantle/reassemble equipment, and fix deficiencies.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and document findings.
• Supervise workers during installation and repair of electrical equipment.
• Follow safety policies and report hazards to management.
• Cross-train and adapt to varied tasks and shift demands.
