Job summary

GAF in Baltimore is hiring an Industrial Electrician to provide maintenance for production lines. The role requires reading blueprints, performing repairs, and maintaining electrical systems on a high-speed manufacturing floor.

You will work six days per week with a focus on safety, reliability, and equipment efficiency, including operation of a lift truck and handling several maintenance tasks daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prefer 3+ years in a high-speed manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs on machinery in the plant.
• Read instructions, blueprints, and manuals; use meters, hand tools, and shop equipment to perform tasks.
• Replace electric motors, switches and wires as required.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, relays, AC and DC motors.
• Troubleshoot and repair input and output control devices.
• Work with 3-phase electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to prevent production interruptions and ensure safe operation.
• Maintain tools and test equipment for plant electrical systems.
• Assist supervision in designing new/replacement equipment to enhance performance.
• Maintain neatness and safety; uphold good housekeeping.
• Operate lift truck.
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds; climb ladders to access equipment.
