Job summary

Merck is seeking an Electrician at its West Point, PA facility to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical equipment under supervision. The role supports maintenance within an I/E Technician group and may cross-train across related crafts to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Three years of recent full-time experience as an electrician with heavy industrial applications.
• Read blueprints, drawings, schematics, line diagrams, etc.
• Experience with testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
• Completion of an electrician apprenticeship or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, installs, disconnects, and tests electrical equipment, motors, generators, and control equipment.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs conduit to outlets, equipment and panels.
• Installs, maintains, tests, and repairs lights, lighting controls, alarms, power distribution, and data processing systems.
• Troubleshoots, locates and remedies trouble on any circuit by conducting electrical testing procedures; completes load surveys and testing.
• Maintains and services all electrical equipment; follows NEC and safety guidelines.
• Prepares labor and material estimates; assists supervision with scheduling and prioritization of work orders.
• Participates in HAZOPS, Kaizen, and safety or environmental initiatives.
• Reviews manufacturer manuals and CMMS work orders; assists with spare parts.
