Job summary

Arizona State University seeks a Commercial/Industrial Electrician for the West Valley campus in Tempe. The role installs, repairs, and maintains electrical wiring and fixtures, reads blueprints, and supports fire alarm systems across multiple ASU locations as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma and 2 years of electrical experience or equivalent training. A valid driver’s license is required, with on-call shifts and safety protocols in place.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and two years of electrical experience or equivalent training.
• Read blueprints and schematics.
• Install, repair and maintain electrical wiring and fixtures from 120–600 volts.
• Repair and maintain fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable).
• Possess a valid US driver’s license throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematics to install circuits and sub-distribution from 120–600 V.
• Install conduit, wire mold and cable raceways; perform general electrical repairs.
• Troubleshoot emergency electrical systems and ATS/generator setups up to 600 V.
• Repair and install 277–480 V systems and equipment as needed.
• Operate forklift, scissor lift, and ladders; load/unload materials.
• Maintain documentation via the work order system and coordinate tasks.
