Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join a manufacturing facility in York, PA. This is a full-time, first-shift role offering a competitive wage between $30 and $35 per hour, based on your professional background. You will be tasked with the installation, upkeep, diagnostics, and modernization of electrical infrastructure and production machinery within a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Candidates with a background in high-output production sectors—such as food and beverage, plastics, pharmaceuticals, or packaging—are strongly encouraged to apply.

Primary Duties

Industrial Power Distribution

• Set up and adjust power distribution networks for industrial use.
• Mount transformers, switchgear, disconnect units, and distribution panels to ensure reliable power flow.
• Help boost facility efficiency by routing feeders and branch circuits for new production machinery.
• Confirm that voltage levels, phase rotation, and load capacities meet operational standards.

Industrial Equipment Installation

• Finalize the connection and startup of production machinery.
• Support facility layout changes by relocating and re-hooking up existing equipment.
• Mount electrical enclosures, VFDs, control panels, and motors.
• Complete the termination and routing of power and control cabling.
• Improve overall equipment reliability by troubleshooting electrical and control system faults to reduce downtime.

Automation & Controls

• Integrate and set up automation systems and PLC-driven machinery.
• Wire field devices including photo eyes, limit switches, and various sensors.
• Ensure signal integrity and verify that system communications are functioning correctly.
• Validate that all equipment is operating according to design specifications.

Safety & Compliance

• Conduct comprehensive system verification and electrical testing.
• Maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by strictly adhering to NEC, OSHA, LOTO, and GMP standards.
• Help protect company assets and production schedules by performing routine preventive maintenance.
• Ensure continuous operational safety by proactively identifying and mitigating electrical hazards.

Professional Requirements

• At least six years of professional experience working as an Industrial Electrician in industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and blueprints.
• A Journeyman or Master Electrician license is considered a significant asset.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and dependable personal transportation.
• Requirement to provide your own set of standard electrical and hand tools.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is mandatory for all hires.
• Legal authorization to work within the U.S.
