Compensation
Starting hourly rate: $35.12 per hour, with a base hourly rate of $37.44 for the position. Benefits include health, dental, vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, life insurance and tuition assistance.
Responsibilities
- Under general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, inspect, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, systems, buildings, facilities and physical structures.
- Work from general verbal and written instructions and established operating procedures to perform maintenance tasks.
- Assemble and install all types of new or repaired electrical circuits, systems, instrumentation and equipment, including motors, regulators, controllers, generators and switches.
- Inspect electrical equipment and machinery, diagnose faulty operation, determine corrective actions, document in the maintenance scheduling program and make necessary repairs.
- Use a multi‑meter, voltmeter, ammeter, ground locator and other electrical test equipment.
- Possess working knowledge of electrical distribution systems and switchgear.
- Know and comply with Underwriter codes, national codes, state and local codes and company rules and regulations.
- Configure, commission, troubleshoot and startup any AC/DC drive, HMI, PLC or DCS current and future installations with minimal engineering assistance.
- Document all electrical changes by red‑lining plant drawings and notifying Engineering.
- Ensure all wires and devices inside and outside panels are labeled.
- Assist lower‑class maintenance personnel with proper electrical symbols and check drawings for accuracy.
- Maintain up‑to‑date drawings for electrical panels.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in typical electrical assignments.
- Pass a drug screening, background check and medical clearance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational certification preferred.
- Verifiable experience as an electrician or a valid journeyman’s card.
- Knowledge of electrical theory and practical skills in installation, diagnosis and repair.
- Familiar with multi‑meter, voltmeter, ammeter and other electrical testing devices.
- Proficient with electrical distribution systems, switchgear and related codes.
- Strong understanding of Underwriter, national, state and local electrical codes.
- Ability to configure, commission, troubleshoot and startup drives, HMIs, PLCs and DCSs.
- Good documentation skills and ability to produce red‑lined drawings.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with lower‑class maintenance personnel.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Capacity to pass drug screening, background check and medical clearance.
