We are seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer based in Latin America to join the team as a key independent contractor. In this versatile role, you will lead core technical delivery, designing electrical drawings, managing client change orders, and refining field markups while collaborating directly with the business owner to scale operations and expand future engineering capabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Automation & Electrical Design: Develop and implement industrial automation solutions, create precise electrical drawings, perform power calculations, and update redline markups or field requests using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Project Execution & Change Management: Manage customer change orders, adapt to dynamic client requirements, and provide continuous technical support throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Strategic Growth & Development: Collaborate directly with the business owner to expand capabilities, win new projects, and build future automation initiatives during lower-density project cycles.
• Cross-Functional Support: Apply internal methodologies, manage evolving project scopes, and work seamlessly across independent and collaborative team tasks.

Must-Have Requirements

• Industry & Technical Experience: At least 3 years of solid engineering experience specifically within the industrial automation sector.
• Software & Code Standards: Strong familiarity with electrical codes and standards, AutoCAD Electrical, 3D/2D modeling software, and standard electrical symbols (circuit breakers, transformers, motors, control panels, etc.).
• Engineering Capabilities: Proven ability to create electrical drawings, conduct power calculations, and manage redlines, markup reviews, and project scope changes efficiently.
• Adaptability & Communication: Professional English language proficiency, strong independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly learn and apply internal company processes.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Business Leadership Collaboration: Previous experience working directly alongside business owners to scale operational or engineering capabilities.
• Programming & Tech Skills: Hands-on experience with PLC/automation programming as well as AI tools or workflows.
