Job summary

Omni Staffing is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician for onsite work in Virginia. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems across manufacturing and process facilities.

You will read electrical drawings, work with MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, and perform commissioning and safety-compliant repairs. The role requires hands-on experience, strong safety focus, and ability to collaborate with multiple trades to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial electrical experience in manufacturing or similar environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Proficiency using electrical test equipment including multimeters and megohmmeters.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems and controls.
• Read blueprints, schematics, panel layouts, and one-line diagrams.
• Install conduit, cable trays, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, and switchgear.
• Perform startup, commissioning, and testing of new equipment.
• Diagnose and repair issues on motors, pumps, conveyors, and automation.
• Support maintenance, shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency repairs.
• Ensure installations meet NEC, OSHA, and customer specs.
• Conduct preventative/predictive maintenance and safety audits.
• Collaborate with project managers and other trades to stay on schedule.
• Complete reports, work orders, and site documentation.

Summary

Our team is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to support industrial construction, maintenance, equipment installation, plant shutdowns, and capital projects throughout manufacturing and process facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems while adhering to the company’s strong commitment to safety, quality, cost control, schedule compliance, and client satisfaction. We specialize in industrial construction and maintenance services for manufacturing and process industries, including plant maintenance, equipment installation, heavy industrial projects, process piping, steel fabrication, and shutdown work.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, equipment, and controls.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, panel layouts, one‑line diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Install and terminate conduit, cable trays, motor controls, VFDs, PLC‑related equipment, transformers, switchgear, and distribution systems.
• Perform startup, commissioning, and functional testing of newly installed equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues in motors, pumps, conveyors, production equipment, and automated systems.
• Support plant maintenance activities, shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency repairs.
• Ensure all installations comply with NEC, OSHA, local codes, and customer specifications.
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial electrical systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, millwrights, pipefitters, and other trades to complete projects safely and on schedule.
• Complete daily reports, work orders, inspections, and documentation as required.
• Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and site safety audits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial electrical experience in manufacturing, industrial construction, processing plants, power generation, food processing, chemical, or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Industrial power distribution systems
  • Motor control centers (MCCs)
  • VFDs and soft starters
  • PLC‑controlled equipment
  • Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Industrial instrumentation
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and construction drawings.
• Proficiency using electrical test equipment, including multimeters, megohmmeters, and calibration tools.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
