Job summary

Sensient Technologies in Livingston, CA is seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team. You will maintain and repair electrical equipment, control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and drives across a 24/7 plant.

The role requires a degree in Industrial Electrical or instrumentation (or Journeyman status) and 4+ years of experience, with strong NEC knowledge, ladder logic reading, and a commitment to safety and reliability. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Industrial Electrical, Instrumentation or Technician program and minimum 4 years electrical experience, or Journeyman Card/Electrician status.
• Strong understanding of 3-phase power distribution and 120VAC circuits.
• Knowledge of NEC code, relay circuits, conduit bending to NEC specs, and load calculations.
• Ability to install motors, switches, panels, fuse boxes, lighting, and power circuits.
• Read and troubleshoot electrical schematics and ladder logic.
• Must be available for off-shift call-ins in a 24/7 facility and follow ARC flash safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial control systems (PLC, HMI, DCS, servos, drives).
• Install/repair electrical components including wiring, receptacles, conduits, and fiber/coax cable assemblies.
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Inspect and repair transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring and communication systems.
• Plan wiring layouts, install conduit and electrical apparatus plant-wide.
• Ensure safe operation using PPE and LOTO procedures.

We are searching for an Industrial Electrician to join our talented maintenance team in Livingston, CA. This position is responsible for the general maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment in the plant. What you’ll do:

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial control systems and relateddevices including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), distributed control systems, Servos, and Drives.
• Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical components including electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, for example.
• Preform preventive maintenance on electrical/electronic equipment as well as components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Perform and document maintenance, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
• Inspect, repair and remove all types of, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and work with electrical systems.
• Provide proper installation and diagnosis of AC/DC motors and controls, including across the line, soft starters and VFD’s, etc.
• Plan layouts and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus plant wide.

What you’ll bring:

• A degree from an accredited Industrial Electrical, Instrument or Technician program and a minimum of 4 years of electrical experience,orJourneyman Card and Electrician status performing Instrumentation and Electrical duties in a manufacturing, Industrial environment.
• A comprehensive understanding in 3 phase power and its distribution as well as 120vac circuits and pneumatic controls with ability to repair.
• A clear understanding of the N.E.C. Code and the ability to troubleshoot and repair relay circuits, layout and bend conduit to N.E.C specifications, and accurately complete basic load calculations.
• Ability to complete tasks such as installation of motors, switches, switch panels, fuse boxes, lighting fixtures and controls, testing electrical & power circuits and any other electrical devices.
• Determine proper size and specifications of wire, conduit, switches, panels, fuse, etc.
• Inspect motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, lighting, heating, power circuits and any other electrical devices.
• Work safely using PPE (personal protective equipment) and LOTO (lock out tag out) and have received training in ARC flash safety and risk avoidance.
• Able to read, understand and troubleshoot using electrical schematics and ladder logic.
• Flexibility. We are a 24/7 facility, must be available for off shift Call ins and repairs.

The hourly wage forthis position is $44.00 USD. Payis based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
