Sensient Technologies is hiring a Field Mechanic to support the Agricultural Ingredients operations in Livingston, California. The role involves maintaining, repairing and transporting field equipment, with occasional travel to support field operations.

The position is shop-based but travel is required to support field sites. The ideal candidate has at least five years of Field Mechanic experience; a technical degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs including welding, fabrication, and lathe work.
• Overhaul, maintain and repair field equipment such as trucks and diesel engines; test for efficiency.
• Participate in root cause analysis for equipment/process failures.
• Plan work procedures; propose design substitutions or part rearrangements.
• Maintain communication with maintenance staff and supervisors to ensure clear updates.
• Interact with suppliers and vendors as directed.

We are looking for a Field Mechanicto join our team and support the Agricultural Ingredients business in Livingston, California.In this position, you will be responsible forproviding maintenance, mechanical, and supervisory support to the field operations. Ensuring the safe operation of field equipment through the proper overhaul, maintenance and transportation of all field equipment. This position is shop based however will require travel to provide support to Field Operations as needed.Maintains shop and equipment in good safe efficient conditions, with special care to critical equipment.

What you’ll do:

• Perform all levels of repairs to include welding, fabrication, and the ability to operate a lathe to make proper equipment repairs
• Overhaul, maintain and repair field equipment including trucks, tractors and diesel engines, as well as testing of overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations on repeat equipment/process failures for continued improvement
• Plan work procedures and/or possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts and rearrangement of parts or subassemblies
• This position is expected to maintain ongoing contact with the maintenance manager/superintendent, maintenance coordinator, harvest supervisors, equipment operators, low bed drivers and other maintenance staff as needed to ensure clear and effective communication regarding job activities.
• May be expected to have some periodic contact with suppliers and vendors as directed

The hourly pay for this position is $35.13 USD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
