Job summary

Hunton Services, a division of The Hunton Group, seeks an experienced Industrial Electrician to support the manufacturing, modification, and testing of custom HVAC equipment. You will read schematics, build control panels, install conduit, and troubleshoot motor circuits in a safety-conscious shop environment.

Responsibilities include wiring harnesses, field wiring, and collaborating with engineering on FAT/dry runs. HazLoc familiarity and NFPA 70E awareness are valued assets for this role.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of industrial electrical experience in manufacturing or service.
  • Ability to read schematics and build from prints.
  • Experience with conduit, seal-tight and industrial controls.
  • Strong safety mindset and PPE compliance.

  • Perform electrical installation, modification and troubleshooting on HVAC equipment.
  • Build and wire control panels and field wiring harnesses from drawings.
  • Install and terminate conduit and fittings; troubleshoot motor circuits and relays.
  • Support HazLoc-related executions and read wiring schematics/diagrams.
  • Perform point-to-point checks, continuity testing and functional FAT/dry runs.

DescriptionHunton Services, a division of the Hunton Group, is seeking to hire an experienced Industrial Electrician to join the team. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing, modification, and testing of custom HVAC equipment. This role requires strong industrial electrical skills, hands-on experience with conduit/seal-tight, control wiring, motor circuits, and safe work practices. HazLoc experience is a major plus - especially related to NEC 500/505 concepts and NFPA 496 purge strategies.Come work for an industry leader that has been recognized both locally and nationally as a Top Place to Work !Key ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical installation, modification, and troubleshooting on HVAC equipment (packaged units, wall-mounts, chillers, MAUs, skids).Build and wire control panels and field wiring harnesses per drawings and work instructions.Install and terminate conduit and fittings (rigid, EMT where applicable, seal-tight, cord grips, glands).Terminate and troubleshoot motor circuits, starters, contactors, relays, sensors, heaters, alarms, and interlocks.Support HazLoc-related executions (NFPA 496 Type X/Y/Z concepts): pressure switches, alarms, permissives, shutdown logic, labeled wiring practices, circuit segregation.Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.Perform point-to-point checks, continuity testing, megger testing (as required), and functional testing during FAT/dry runs.Diagnose issues and implement corrective actions; provide feedback to engineering/production.Maintain clean wiring workmanship: labeling, routing, strain relief, enclosure management.Follow shop safety rules including LOTO, PPE requirements, and safe tool use.QualificationsRequired Qualifications2+ years of industrial electrical experience (manufacturing or industrial service).Ability to read schematics and build from prints.Strong experience with conduit, seal-tight, and industrial controls.Solid electrical safety mindset (NFPA 70E familiarity preferred).Dependable attendance and “finish-the-job-right” workmanship.Preferred Qualifications not requiredHazLoc/classified area exposure (NEC 500/505 concepts) and NFPA 496 purge/pressurization experience.HVAC controls familiarity (pressure/temperature sensors, safeties, interlocks).Panel shop experience (UL 508A exposure a plus).Forklift/overhead crane experience (or willingness to certify).Work Environment / Physical RequirementsMust be able to work in a shop environment.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work safely around equipment.
