Job summary

ProAmpac is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician in Greenville, Wisconsin to support a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance, read schematics, and ensure equipment meets quality standards.

You will follow ISO, GMP and food-safety practices, participate in 3-6 months of paid training, and collaborate across teams. A High School diploma, electromechanical apprenticeship and PLC experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Product or industry-specific machine experience.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• High School level mathematics.
• Experience with PLCs and drives troubleshooting as well as hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical skills.
• Completed an Electromechanical Apprenticeship Program in a manufacturing environment.
• 7+ years in a manufacturing facility or equivalent experience.
• Advanced skills in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems and PLC programming.

Responsibilities

• Follow quality requirements to meet specifications.
• Communicate with employees across departments to ensure a team environment.
• Understand and apply knowledge of electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics.
• Comply with ISO, BRC and GMPs and food safety practices.
• Read technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
• Document technical information through writing, sketches/diagrams, and graphs.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and fluid measurements with proper tools.
• Assemble/disassemble, repair, or calibrate components following procedures.
• Understand machine operation and control.
• Assemble wires and electrical components following layouts.
• Apply electrical skills to troubleshoot control panels.
• Test instruments for circuit continuity and reliability.
• Analyze test results and repair or adjust as needed.
• Calibrate instruments per specs.
• Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing.
• Demonstrate persistence when facing complex problems.
• Assess condition of parts using micrometers and calipers.
• Apply programming languages to PLC control of machines.
• Source replacement parts and perform repairs.
• Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists and hand tools.

• Assembles wires, insulation and electrical components, such as resistors and capacitors, following method layouts.
• Apply electrical skills to troubleshoot control and operator panels.
• Tests assembled instruments for circuit continuity and operational reliability.
• Analyzes test results and repairs or adjusts instruments according to analysis.
• Calibrates instruments according to specifications.
• Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing.
• Demonstrate persistence when dealing with complex problems.
• Assess the condition of used parts using, micrometers, calipers, and specifications.
• Apply programming languages to the control of single programmable controllers and industrial networks.
• Source replacement parts and perform repairs.
• Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists, and hand tools.

Qualifications, Education And Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Product or industry specific machine experience.
• Basic Mechanical Skills
• High School Level Mathematics
• Experience with PLC’s and drives trouble shooting as well as hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical skills.
• Completed an Electromechanical Apprenticeship Program in a manufacturing environment.
• 7-years’ experience and/or training in a manufacturing facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced skills (Journeyman level) required in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems and PLC programming.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.
