Job summary

ProAmpac is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic duties on packaging equipment in a climate-controlled Wisconsin facility.

The role requires experience with PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics, plus an electromechanical apprenticeship or equivalent. Candidates must be able to read schematics and work in a team to ensure safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Product or industry specific machine experience.
  • Basic Mechanical Skills
  • High School Level Mathematics
  • Experience with PLC’s and drives troubleshooting as well as hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical skills.
  • Completed an Electromechanical Apprenticeship Program in a manufacturing environment.
  • 7-years’ experience and/or training in a manufacturing facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced skills (Journeyman level) required in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems and PLC programming.

  • Effectively communicate with employees from your own and other departments to ensure a team environment.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics.
  • Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO, BRC and GMPs are requirements of all employees.
  • Read technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Document technical information through writing, sketches/diagrams, computation and graphs.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and fluid measurements with proper tools and test equipment.
  • Assemble/disassemble, repair, or calibrate components following procedures.
  • Understand the operation and control of machines.

  • Read technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Document technical information through descriptive writing, sketches/diagrams, mathematical expression, computation, and graphs.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and fluid measurements by properly selecting tools and test equipment.
  • Perform electrical/mechanical assembly/disassembly, repair, or calibrate components by properly selecting tools and equipment and following procedures.
  • Understand the overall operation and control of machines.
  • Assembles wires, insulation and electrical components, such as resistors and capacitors, following method layouts.
  • Apply electrical skills to troubleshoot control and operator panels.
  • Tests assembled instruments for circuit continuity and operational reliability.
  • Analyzes test results and repairs or adjusts instruments according to analysis.
  • Calibrates instruments according to specifications.
  • Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing.
  • Demonstrate persistence when dealing with complex problems.
  • Assess the condition of used parts using, micrometers, calipers, and specifications.
  • Apply programming languages to the control of single programmable controllers and industrial networks.
  • Source replacement parts and perform repairs.
  • Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists, and hand tools.
Qualifications, Education And Experience

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.
