Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Columbia, SC is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician for a hands-on, reactive maintenance role in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot 480V motor controls, PLC inputs/outputs, VFDs, and arc-furnace systems, conducting preventive checks and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with 480V systems, motor controls, VFDs, Allen-Bradley PLCs, and arc-safe troubleshooting in a demanding plant setting.

Qualifications

• Industrial electrical experience in manufacturing/heavy industrial environments.
• Strong 480V motor control experience
• VFD troubleshooting experience
• Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLC inputs/outputs and field wiring
• Knowledge of Arc Flash and PPE requirements
• Ability to read and use electrical meters
• Transformer experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical calls from operations and troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot 480V motor controls, motor starters, start/stop circuits, and control wiring.
• Use electrical meters to diagnose problems and perform circuit testing, including megger testing.
• Troubleshoot 24V DC Allen-Bradley PLC inputs/outputs and field wiring.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot VFD faults, including overcurrent conditions and rotation issues.
• Understand DC braking through VFDs and basic VFD operation.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting on equipment including arc furnaces, bag houses, and CDA systems.
• Conduct equipment rounds and identify potential electrical issues before they cause downtime.
• Follow Arc Flash, PPE, and electrical safe work practices.
• Work on electrical projects and develop additional skills toward Process Control Technician responsibilities.
