Job summary

ABB is seeking a Production Maintenance Specialist in the Smart Power division, based in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. You will support the Maintenance team, perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, and strive to improve equipment efficiency.

The role requires reading electrical diagrams and working across shifts as needed. You will be part of a collaborative, high-performing team committed to safety and reliable production, with responsibilities spanning emergency responses,

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation or a related field.
• 2-5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Basic knowledge of the English language.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Availability to work night shifts, weekends, and on a continuous shift schedule if required.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies/breakdowns.
• Set calibration and adjust equipment, machinery, and instruments to production specifications.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Install, repair, and replace electrical components such as motors, sensors, drives, switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and automation schematics.
• Carry out electrical testing, calibration, and commissioning activities to ensure equipment performance and compliance with specifications.
• Support troubleshooting activities on PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation equipment.
