Job summary

ABB in Puerto Rico is seeking an Electrical Maintenance professional to support the Maintenance team at the Smart Power division in Arecibo. You will respond to emergencies, calibrate and adjust equipment, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure production lines run reliably.

You will diagnose electrical faults, install and replace components, and interpret electrical drawings and manuals. The role requires shift flexibility and eligibility to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation or a related field.
• 2–5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Basic knowledge of the English language.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills on electrical and automation systems.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, inverters, sensors, and PLC fundamentals.
• Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Strong commitment, reliability, problem-solving attitude, and willingness to learn.
• Availability to work night shifts, weekends, and on a continuous shift schedule if required.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Responding to emergencies/breakdowns.
• Setting calibration and adjusting equipment, machinery, and instruments to comply with production specifications and instructions.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Install, repair, and replace electrical components such as motors, sensors, drives, switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and automation schematics.
• Carry out electrical testing, calibration, and commissioning activities to ensure equipment performance and compliance with specifications.
• Support troubleshooting activities on PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation equipment.
• Able to work on any of our 3 production shifts.
