Job summary

ABB Smart Power in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, is seeking a Production Development Specialist to support the Maintenance team. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, read mechanical drawings, and collaborate with production and engineering to boost equipment efficiency on site.

The role requires a technical diploma in mechanical fields, basic English, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and strong fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of the English language.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills in mechanical and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Repair, replace, and overhaul mechanical components such as bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, pumps, valves, and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and pneumatic diagrams.
• Carry out machine setup, alignment, calibration, and adjustment activities according to production requirements.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
• Report recurring mechanical issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
