Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure safe operations and reliable production at our Texas facility. The role demands hands-on electrical and mechanical work across multiple rolling and finishing lines and related equipment.

You will perform maintenance on LMFs, VTDs, Casters, Mold Segment Shop equipment, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to boost productivity and reliability, collaborating with teams to maintain high quality and uptime.

Qualifications

• Safety oriented and willing to work overtime.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe work environment.
• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance of LMFs, VTDs, Caster, Mold Segment Shop, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues for LMFs, VTDs, Caster, Mold Segment Shop, and related equipment.
• Identify, design, and implement changes/upgrades which will increase the productivity or reliability of the process.
• Understand the steel making process and integrate this knowledge to improve productivity, quality, and reliability.
• Knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, breakers and power distribution systems, motors, motor control equipment, instrumentation, PLCs and VFDs.
• Perform electrical and mechanical tasks requested by crew, supervisor, or management that ensure uninterrupted operations.
