Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company in Scottsville, KY is seeking a Sandwich Making Advanced Technical Resource to lead and support electrical, instrumentation, and maintenance activities across the production line while maintaining GMP, safety, and quality standards.

This role requires hands-on diagnostics, preventive and predictive maintenance, line health checks, and collaboration with Plant Engineering and operations to improve asset reliability and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Must be Level 6 or higher to apply.
• Documentation of electrical training and demonstration of electrical, instrumentation, or PLC skills is desired.
• Must demonstrate willingness and aptitude to learn preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance tools and technologies.
• Must be willing to work overtime on all shifts and teams.
• Less than 16 points over the last 12-month period, as defined in the Plant Selection Process.
• Willful unsafe acts could eliminate a candidate from consideration for this role.
• No written disciplinary action in the last 12 months, including attendance.

Responsibilities

• Able to assume responsibility for manufacturing consumer foods in compliance with all food safety, quality, regulatory, and GMP requirements.
• Support company and site safety policies, perform work safely, recognize unsafe working conditions, coach peers, and suggest improved safety standards as appropriate.
• Operate, maintain, clean, change over, and sanitize production equipment while following and improving documented standards.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, instrumentation, controls, automation equipment, and related software.
• Execute and improve preventive maintenance activities, including lubrication, inspections, maintenance work plans, and timely creation and completion of work orders.
• Learn and apply predictive and condition-based maintenance tools, including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, and other emerging reliability technologies.
