Job summary

Mermet Corp., part of the Hunter Douglas family, is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Cowpens, SC. The role focuses on inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment to keep operations safe and efficient.

You will use CMMS for maintenance work orders and participate in continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and the ability to read blueprints and manuals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or 5+ years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Capable of reading schematics, blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues from power distribution to controls.
• Use CMMS to create, manage and complete maintenance work orders.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and part catalogs for accurate repairs.
• Research and requisition parts to support repairs/stores replenishment.
• Support bi-annual facility shutdowns and occasional call-in maintenance needs.
• Participate in lean/process improvement initiatives and suggest process improvements.
• Conduct weekly Gemba walk to identify and address opportunities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment including weekly departmental deep cleaning.
• All other duties as assigned.

Hourly Rate: $33-$37 Per Hour Dependent Upon Experience/Skills

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Performs preventive maintenance using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and supports continuous improvement efforts. Must work safely, independently, and with attention to detail. Works A S hift - 8 hours s chedule w/ hours of 6am-4pm - working Mon - Fri

What you'll do

Who you are

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or 5+ years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience preferred
• Skilled in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
• Proficient in using hand and power tools, multi-meters, amp clamps, etc.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs
• Comfortable with MS Office suite, Outlook Email, CMMS software
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to following protocols
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Effective communicator and team player
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing frequent bending, squatting, and walking
• Comfortable working in noisy, hot, cold, or dusty manufacturing environments
• 8 hour S chedule: A S hift - 6am-4pm - working from Mon-Fri
• Overtime and call-in work may be required
