Job summary

Hunter Douglas in Bradenton, FL is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain the three SunPro facilities, ensure safety, and keep buildings operational. You will perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with contractors, and respond to emergencies to protect people and property.

You will work with facility teams to manage repairs, inspections, and basic building enhancements, while documenting work orders and maintaining inventory. This role rewards reliability and hands-on problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain day-to-day operation and condition of three SunPro buildings.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, offices, production areas, warehouses, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Identify facility deficiencies, safety concerns, and maintenance needs; prioritize repairs based on urgency and business impact.
  • Perform general repairs involving doors, locks, hardware, walls, ceilings, floors, lighting, fixtures, and other building components.
  • Assist with facility moves, reorganizations, equipment moves, and construction-related projects.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for facility systems and equipment.
  • Monitor and assist with HVAC, exhaust systems, fans, lighting, plumbing, electrical systems, and other building infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers for repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Respond to facility emergencies including water leaks, HVAC failures, electrical issues, power interruptions, and building damage.
  • Maintain facility supplies, tools, spare parts, and inventory.

JOB SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

The Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance, functionality, safety, and appearance of three SunProfacilities. The position provides hands‑on support for building maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, facilityprojects, and emergency response. The technician identifies problems before they become larger issues and coordinates with department leaders,maintenance personnel, contractors, and service providers to keep all three buildings safe, functional, and operational.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Maintenance – Three Buildings
  • - Maintain the day-to-day operation and condition of all three SunPro buildings.
  • - Inspect buildings, grounds, offices, production areas, warehouses, restrooms, and common areas.
  • - Identify facility deficiencies, safety concerns, and maintenance needs; prioritize repairs based on urgency and businessimpact.
  • - Perform general repairs involving doors, locks, hardware, walls, ceilings, floors, lighting, fixtures, and other buildingcomponents.
  • - Assist with facility moves, reorganizations, equipment moves, and construction‑related projects.
Preventive Maintenance
  • - Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for facility systems and equipment.
  • - Perform routine inspections and document completed maintenance.
  • - Identify recurring problems and recommend corrective actions.
  • - Maintain records of repairs, inspections, service calls, parts, and facility projects.
Building Systems
  • - Monitor and assist with HVAC, exhaust systems, fans, lighting, plumbing, electrical systems, and other buildinginfrastructure.
  • - Identify abnormal operating conditions and coordinate specialized repairs with qualified contractors.
  • - Monitor building temperature, ventilation, lighting, and water systems.
Safety and Compliance
  • - Support SunPro's safety program by identifying and correcting facility hazards.
  • - Conduct routine facility safety inspections and maintain clear emergency exits, walkways, aisles, and fire equipmentaccess.
  • - Report unsafe conditions promptly and assist with OSHA, fire, insurance, and other regulatory inspections.
  • - Ensure contractors follow SunPro safety requirements while working on company property.
Contractors and Vendors
  • - Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers for repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • - Schedule service, provide site access, and verify completed work and safe conditions.
  • - Obtain quotes and maintain vendor, service, and warranty records.
Emergency Response
  • - Respond to facility emergencies including water leaks, HVAC failures, electrical issues, power interruptions, and buildingdamage.
  • - Take appropriate immediate action to protect employees, property, and operations.
  • - Contact emergency services, management, or contractors when required.
Inventory, Tools and Projects
  • - Maintain facility supplies, tools, spare parts, and inventory.
  • - Maintain accountability for company tools and recommend purchases as needed.
  • - Assist with facility improvement projects, equipment installations, building modifications, and expansions.
  • - Recommend improvements that increase safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • - Must maintain a constant state of alertness and safe work practices.
  • - Requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • - May work in indoor/outdoor, warehouse, office, and production environments.
  • - May use ladders, lifts, hand tools, and power tools when trained and authorized.
  • - May require after-hours emergency response.
