Job summary

Great Basin Industrial seeks an experienced Electrical Estimator / Preconstruction to join our Kaysville, UT team. The role focuses on preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial electrical projects, reviewing plans, bid documents, and supporting preconstruction efforts while collaborating with project teams.

You will perform quantity takeoffs, develop labor, material, and equipment estimates, solicit subcontractor pricing, identify risks, and contribute to proposals.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience with industrial electrical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, construction methods, and estimating principles.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support project and client needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial electrical projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and equipment estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations, and clients throughout the preconstruction process.
• Assist with proposal preparation and bid submissions.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
