Job summary

Accelera, a leading engineering firm in the Cleveland, OH area, seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to manage the full lifecycle of industrial electrical control systems, from installation to startup and troubleshooting of PLC/HMI machines.

You will configure, test, and program SCADA platforms and HMIs, collaborate with clients, select appropriate components, and ensure seamless integration across systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of automated industrial systems, including HMI, PLC, variable speed motor controls, and VFDs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with internal teams and partners.

Responsibilities

• Field Execution & Service: evaluate on-site obstacles, perform repairs and guide improvements for machinery efficiency.
• Programming & Controls: configure, test, and program SCADA platforms, HMIs, and PLCs for reliable operation.
• Client Consultation: work with clients to determine technical needs and select electrical components.
• System Integration: oversee end-to-end installation, wiring verification, and startup for reliable operation.
• System Design: create electrical schematics and control loops to support new automated systems.
