Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a design engineer to create detailed 3D models and complete production drawings for custom shot blast equipment and mechanical assemblies using Autodesk Inventor. You will produce BOMs, tolerancing, weld callouts, and fabrication notes ready for the shop floor.

You’ll collaborate across sales, operations, and service teams, manage design revisions in CETEC ERP, and drive standardization for manufacturability as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Proven experience creating 3D models and production drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to produce BOMs, tolerancing, weld callouts, and fabrication notes for shop floor production.
• Experience managing design revisions and maintaining a drawing library with strict revision control.
• Collaboration with sales and operations to design manufacturable solutions.
• Drive standardization to improve manufacturability and lead times.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and production drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Produce complete drawing packages with BOMs, tolerancing, weld callouts, fabrication notes.
• Scope and design solutions based on customer requirements with sales/ops.
• Manage design revisions and maintain organized drawing library with revision control.
• Pursue design efficiencies: standardized components and shorter lead times.
• Contribute to Product & Standards Development and assist with quoting estimates.
• Document standards and reusable references as the company scales.
• Travel to customer sites to assess components.
• Reverse engineer parts and add new drawings to the library.
• Support field service with technical drawings and clarification.
• Flag issues early and resolve ERP-drawing discrepancies.
