Job summary

CECO Environmental is seeking a Designer to develop clear equipment layouts and proposal drawings for heavy industrial systems. The role emphasizes practical layout development, 3D modeling with Autodesk Inventor, and coordination with Sales and Engineering teams.

The designer will translate customer requirements into workable arrangements, create conceptual layouts, and support proposal packages for customers and internal reviews.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in CAD, Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of designer/drafter experience for industrial equipment or mechanical systems.
• Strong CAD drafting and layout skills; proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling software.
• Experience preparing conceptual layouts, general arrangement drawings, proposal drawings, and customer-facing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual equipment layouts, general arrangement drawings, and proposal-level design packages for heavy industrial equipment and complete process systems.
• Use Autodesk Inventor and CAD tools to support layout development, visualization, and coordination of equipment arrangements.
• Prepare proposal drawings and customer submittal packages communicating scope, configuration, interfaces, and dimensions.
• Develop layouts and preliminary configurations for budgeting, internal review, and client evaluation.
• Coordinate with Sales, Applications Engineering, Engineering, and Project Management to ensure drawings reflect project scope.
