Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Cybersecurity Engineer to serve as the plant’s primary cybersecurity execution partner, implementing and sustaining the Manufacturing Cybersecurity Program while coordinating remediation and incident response across plant and global teams.

You will apply patching and firmware updates to production-critical equipment, communicate risk and recovery plans to leadership, and help ensure secure, resilient manufacturing operations with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years experience may substitute for degree.
• 1+ years in cybersecurity, manufacturing ops, or OT environments.
• Knowledge of endpoint security, vulnerability management, incident response, and recovery.
• Experience patching production-critical equipment and updating OT firmware.

Responsibilities

• Implement and sustain the Manufacturing Cybersecurity Program at the plant.
• Identify and remediate endpoint security issues and vulnerabilities.
• Support incident response, investigations, and recovery activities.
• Coordinate readiness assessments for new initiatives and post-launch ops.
• Communicate risks, remediation plans, and downtime impact to leadership.
• Document assessments, remediation actions, and operating procedures.
