Job summary

American Products is seeking a Custodian to support our Facilities Maintenance team in a manufacturing environment. You will clean production and common areas to keep the facility safe, organized, and compliant with hygiene standards.

This role features an Evening & Overnight schedule with a shift differential and will train on the Day shift. Responsibilities include deep cleaning restrooms, floors, and waste handling, stocking supplies, and reporting safety issues to Maintenance to ensure

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Janitorial experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification within 30 days.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean facilities.
• Professional communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deep clean restrooms and breakrooms using approved chemicals and equipment.
• Clean plant floors using ride-on and walk-behind scrubbers and sweepers.
• Empty trash throughout the facility.
• Transport waste and cardboard to compactors using a forklift.
• Restock supplies, fill dispensers, and disinfect surfaces.
• Clean windows, walls, and high-traffic areas.
• Report facility or safety issues to Maintenance.
• Assist with larger cleaning projects as needed.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Forklift operation required; position is safety sensitive
• Must wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots and safety glasses
