Job summary
Deckorators, a brand of UFP Industries, is seeking a Controls Technician for our Buffalo, NY facility to support maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and optimization of industrial control systems. You will work with Controls Engineers, Electricians, and Maintenance teams to ensure PLC, SCADA, HMI, and related systems operate safely and reliably in production.
The role requires PLC experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a hands-on approach to industrial maintenance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
- Specialized training in PLCs or equivalent hands-on work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on maintenance in industrial manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on control systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, sensors, and related equipment.
- Conduct tests and inspections to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with electricians and maintenance technicians to troubleshoot.
- Assist with installation and configuration of OT hardware/software.
- Follow drawings/diagrams to ensure accurate system integration.
- Maintain PM procedures and keep accurate installation/repair records.
- Prepare technical reports on system performance, issues, and resolutions.
- Update system documentation and manuals; follow safety procedures.
