Job summary

Deckorators, a brand of UFP Industries, seeks a Controls Technician at our Buffalo, NY facility. You will support maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and optimization of PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems to keep production safe and efficient.

You will work with Controls Engineers, Electricians, and Maintenance teams, performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and system improvements. Strong reading of schematics and hands-on OT experience are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; additional technical education preferred.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing.
Experience with PLCs and related control systems; ability to read manuals and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance on control systems to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and resolve issues with PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, sensors, and related equipment.
Conduct tests and inspections to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with electricians and maintenance technicians to troubleshoot electrical/electronic issues.
Assist with installation and configuration of OT hardware and software.
Follow drawings and diagrams for accurate system integration.
Maintain and update electrical PM procedures and records.
Prepare technical reports on system performance and resolutions.
