Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, a leader in sustainable packaging, seeks an Industrial Electrician/Controls Technician at our Devens, MA plant. The role focuses on electrical and automation maintenance to keep equipment up to OEM standards and maximize uptime.

You will collaborate with maintenance leadership, operators, vendors and reliability teams to meet production goals, perform scheduled and emergency maintenance, and mentor junior technicians in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of PLC, VFD and HMI/OIT software with troubleshooting ability.
• Experience repairing electrical controls systems, mechanical drives, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Familiarity with robotics, controllers networks and control panels.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Provide electrical and automation controls troubleshooting, support and preventive maintenance for the corrugated packaging facility.
• Review plant metrics and equipment data to identify improvement opportunities and lead implementation.
• Perform emergency breakdown maintenance as needed to support operations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities and observe machine conditions (wear, vibrations, noise).
