Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Devens, MA seeks an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Technician to keep high-speed corrugated packaging equipment running to OEM standards. You will collaborate with maintenance leadership, operators, and vendors to maximize uptime and meet production goals.

The role requires strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. The plant is nonunion; starting pay ranges from $30–$40 per hour with benefits starting day one and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience (5+ preferred) with large industrial equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance & repair.
• Mechanics: proper selection, maintenance and precision installation of power transmission equipment, gearbox, mechanical drives.
• Technicians: electrical knowledge and experience with electrical/industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Provide electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and preventive and emergency maintenance for the corrugated packaging facility.
• Perform emergency breakdown maintenance as needed to support plant operations; assist with lubrication, wear measurement, and component repositioning.
• Senior team members may train peers and junior staff on skillsets.
