Job summary

Biewer Lumber in Prentice, WI, is seeking an Industrial Controls Technician to join our team in a full-time capacity. You will install, maintain, and repair industrial control systems, reading blueprints and specifications, and supporting our fast-paced lumber operation.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, motors, and control wiring; strong electrical and automation skills are required. Expect a rotating 6pm-6am schedule and adherence to OSHA safety standards as you contribute to

Qualifications

Two years of formal technical training in electricity and electrical design, PLCs.
Five years of experience in electrical systems in manufacturing.
State electrician licensure or certification desired.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, repair and modify industrial control systems and instrumentation per blueprints and specs.
Complete preventive maintenance programs for control systems and equipment.
Troubleshoot production equipment (PLCs, VFDs, motors, switches, wiring).
Follow safety rules and complete required safety training.
Diagnose repairs and implement process improvements with external vendors.
Coordinate with maintenance and management on non-operational equipment.
Quote and schedule electrical projects with vendors.
Prepare reports for work progress and maintenance documents.
Follow housekeeping and SOPs.
Provide ideas for continuous improvement.
