Job summary

Freeman Corporation in Winchester, KY is seeking an Industrial Electrician / Controls Technician for our manufacturing facility. You will ensure safe operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and control systems, supporting production with troubleshooting and improvements.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years in industrial electrical maintenance or automation, and experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and safety circuits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five or more years of industrial electrical maintenance, controls, or automation experience.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting industrial machinery and electrical control systems.
• Experience with 480/460V three-phase systems, motors, VFDs, sensors, control panels, and safety circuits.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and safely perform electrical installations and repairs.
• Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC systems and related troubleshooting software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot independently in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance, production, and management.
• Ability to work first shift and occasional overtime, weekends, or shutdown periods as required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain industrial electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC-controlled equipment, including PLCs, remote I/O, HMIs, and related hardware.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and interpret manuals.
• Use electrical test equipment to identify root causes of failures.
• Install and terminate electrical wiring, panels, motors, and other industrial equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document work performed and parts used.
• Support equipment upgrades, production-line changes, and continuous-improvement activities.
• Follow safety policies and NFPA 70E requirements and report unsafe conditions.
