Job summary

The Freeman Corporation, a leading veneer manufacturer, is hiring an Industrial Electrician for first shift at the Winchester, KY plant. The role focuses on safe operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of electrical and control systems across our manufacturing facility.

You will work with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, motors, sensors, and safety circuits to keep production running and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five or more years of industrial electrical maintenance, controls, or automation experience.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting industrial machinery and electrical control systems.
• Experience with 480/460V three-phase systems, motors, VFDs, sensors, control panels, and safety circuits.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and safely perform electrical installations and repairs.
• Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC systems and related troubleshooting software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot independently in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance, production, and management.
• Ability to work first shift and occasional overtime, weekends, or shutdown periods as required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain industrial electrical systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC-controlled equipment and related hardware.
• Make approved minor PLC, HMI, timer, counter, sequence, and setpoint changes.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Use electrical test equipment to identify root causes of failures.
• Install and terminate electrical wiring, conduit, and control devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document work performed and parts used.
• Support equipment upgrades, production-line changes, capital projects, startups, commissioning.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow safety policies.
