Job summary

ACEMCO Incorporated is seeking a diligent Controls Technician to maintain and improve automated manufacturing systems. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize control panels, sensors, and VFDs while supporting engineering, maintenance, and production teams.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on experience in industrial controls, an associate degree or technical certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in industrial controls, automation, or electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in metal stamping, fabrication, or automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair control system issues including panels, wiring, sensors, and VFDs.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues across the plant.
  • Modify ladder logic to resolve production or system performance.
  • Read wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
  • Install and configure new I/O modules, sensors, and VFDs.
  • Document maintenance activities and system changes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to minimize downtime.
  • Train operators and junior technicians on basic troubleshooting and safe operation.
