Job summary

Acara Solutions seeks a Controls and Automation Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated equipment on site in Richmond, VA. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other automation components, following safety and TPM practices to support production goals.

The role requires 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong electrical/mechanical knowledge; ISA CST/CCST/CAP or similar certifications and drafting software skills

Qualifications

Strong mechanical/electrical/controls understanding and maintenance experience.
Proficiency with PLC control systems, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
Familiarity with PLC programming and ladder/function block/structured text.
Knowledge of industrial networking protocols and safety practices.
ISA CST/CCST/CAP or equivalent certifications are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated equipment and control systems.
Perform preventive maintenance and TPM tasks on production equipment.
Diagnose PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and related components and perform root cause analysis.
Coordinate with contractors, read schematics, and document changes.
Ensure safety, 5S standards, and timely maintenance to support business goals.
