Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Winsted, CT is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician specializing in Electronics/Controls. You will troubleshoot CNC equipment, PLCs, servo drives, and complex electrical systems to keep manufacturing lines running smoothly.

In this role you’ll perform wiring, install upgrades, and work with vendors to support equipment refurbishments. Strong problem-solving and reading schematics are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in Electronics or a related field preferred.
• Experience or training with CNC machine controls and PLCs preferred.
• Experience with 480/277/220V three-phase power, transformers, and electrical wiring.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting CNC and PLC-controlled equipment using schematics and manuals.
• Performing basic and advanced machine and plant wiring.
• Using electrical test equipment to diagnose issues.
• Troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC servo drives, power supplies, and feedback devices.
• Troubleshooting and replacing switches, sensors, and other electrical components.
• Supporting equipment refurbishments, modifications, and upgrades.
• Working with equipment vendors and outside service providers as needed.
• Ordering parts and maintaining inventory levels.
• Supporting 6S, housekeeping, and workplace organization standards.
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Completing job-specific training and following Quality, EHS, and company policies.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
