In this highly visible, hands‑on role based in Mason, Ohio, you’ll be the go‑to expert keeping our automated manufacturing assets reliable, safe, and continuously improving.

A day in the life

You’ll start by clearing a bottleneck on an automated line, dig into PLC logic to isolate a stubborn intermittent fault, collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to shave seconds off a cycle, and wrap up by updating drawings, backups, and spares so we’re ready for tomorrow’s launch. Your mission: maximize uptime and quality while commissioning new equipment and elevating our maintenance strategy from preventive to predictive.

What you’ll do
  • Maintain and troubleshoot automated production equipment to maximize uptime and throughput.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and controls issues.
  • Program, debug, and modify PLCs, HMIs, motion control, and industrial automation systems.
  • Commission, install, start up, and validate new machines and production lines.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Lead root cause analyses using 5-Why, Fishbone, and Failure Mode Analysis (FMEA).
  • Own documentation: electrical drawings, PLC backups, equipment manuals, spares inventory, and maintenance records.
  • Support robots (industrial and collaborative), automated assembly, conveyors, torque systems, vision inspection, laser marking, dispensing, battery cyclers, and automated end‑of‑line test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot industrial networks and devices: Ethernet/IP, I/O, sensors, actuators, servo drives, and VFDs.
  • Design, modify, and enhance control panels, machine electrical systems, and production equipment.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to improve cycle times, reliability, ergonomics, quality, and throughput.
  • Analyze performance via OEE, MTBF, MTTR, downtime reports, and production metrics to drive improvements.
  • Recommend and implement capital upgrades, automation enhancements, and cost reductions.
  • Support facility services including compressed air, electrical distribution, HVAC interfaces, and related infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, and company safety standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Product Integration, Test Engineering, and Operations to resolve production issues fast.
  • Implement and sustain Odoo ERP, MES, and Maintenance modules for work orders, PM scheduling, spare parts, and equipment history.
