Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Controls / Manufacturing Systems)


Location: Browns Summit, NC (On-site)

About the Role

We are seeking a hands‑on Electrical Engineer to support and enhance manufacturing operations within a high‑precision production environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical systems, controls, and automation across production equipment and facility operations.


The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, supporting new system implementations, and driving continuous improvement across plant operations. This position requires strong technical expertise combined with practical, plant‑floor problem‑solving skills.


Key Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems across production equipment, including PLCs, sensors, drives, and control panels

  • Support installation, commissioning, and integration of new equipment and automation systems

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues to minimize downtime and improve production efficiency

  • Collaborate with mechanical, production, and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance

  • Modify and improve control systems to enhance reliability, safety, and throughput

  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation

  • Support capital projects by providing electrical design input, system validation, and implementation support

  • Assist in programming and troubleshooting PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)

  • Implement and support preventive maintenance strategies for electrical systems

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and internal procedures


Key Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Hands‑on experience with PLCs, automation systems, and industrial controls

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical systems and production equipment

  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

  • Familiarity with motors, drives (VFDs), sensors, and control panels

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in high‑precision or regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., printing, packaging, aerospace, or similar)

  • Knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems

  • Experience with automation, robotics, or system integration

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives

  • On‑site role within a manufacturing facility

  • Frequent interaction with production equipment and electrical systems

  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment on the plant floor
