Job summary

TVH Parts Co in Kansas is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, commission, and support industrial automation and control systems for TVH equipment and integrated warehouse controls. You will work on PLC, HMI, motion control, and safety software across multiple PLC platforms and travel to DC locations as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related experience, strong PLC programming skills, and proficiency with IEC 61131-3 and industrial

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science or 3 years of related experience.
• Experience programming PLC-based automation systems is required.
• Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming standards is required.
• Experience with industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, etc.) is required.
• Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems is preferred.
• Motion control and servo systems experience is preferred.
• Machine safety systems experience is preferred.
• Experience commissioning full lines and individual machines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC, HMI, motion control, and safety software for TVH equipment and warehouse controls.
• Configure and integrate equipment into complete production line solutions.
• Participate in machine commissioning and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation, controls, and communication issues.
• Support standardization and modularization of software architecture.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure alignment with standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and commissioning reports.
• Provide technical support to automation and operations teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for machine performance and software quality.
