Job summary

TVH Americas is seeking an Automation Engineer in Olathe, KS. The role focuses on designing, developing, commissioning, and maintaining industrial automation and control software across PLC platforms for North American projects.

The position requires strong PLC programming, IEC 61131-3 knowledge, and experience with industrial networking. The team collaborates with global engineering groups to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science, or 3 years of related experience.
Experience programming PLC-based automation systems is required.
Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming standards is required.

Responsibilities

Design and develop PLC, HMI, motion control, and safety control software.
Configure and integrate equipment into complete production line solutions.
Participate in machine commissioning and startup activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve automation, controls, and communication issues.
Support standardization and modularization of software architecture.
Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure alignment with corporate standards.
Create and maintain technical documentation, software specifications, and commissioning reports.
Provide technical support to automation and operations teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for machine performance and software quality.
